June 7, 2026 · Apocalyptic Shadow’s new Starward Mode went live today: three fights against Flame Reaver, Ichor and Cocolia, demanding three full teams where the mode used to ask for two.

Most players who are struggling blame not having three built teams rather than the difficulty.
PSA: APOC Flame Reaver was not made with Seele’s Novaflare in mind and it really shows

With the new mode asking for three teams, the thread’s verdict is yes. Huohuo comfortably sustained OP's Acheron-Blade team, and several posters rate her over Bailu or Gallagher for that third healer.
Did Apocalyptic Shadow actually get harder?
Most read the difficulty spike as a deliberate counter-meta rotation rather than raw inflation, and the workarounds come fast: the OG Silver Wolf makes Cocolia trivial for physical characters, a breaker like DHPT melts Ichor, and the tougher fights mostly punish anyone who won’t rotate off their comfort teams.
